Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations. Navigate using GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes efficiently while adjusting for traffic or road conditions. Transport automobile parts, freight, or other cargo while adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Manage truck loading and unloading processes accurately, verifying cargo against shipping documents and ensuring proper documentation for hazardous or sensitive materials. Maintain compliance with all safety protocols related to hazardous materials regulations and truck driving best practices. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly. Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat endorsement preferred). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in various environments. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazard materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks skillfully and handle truck loading/unloading tasks manually when required. Strong navigation skills using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries on over-the-road routes.
