POSITION SUMMARY

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation and delivery of materials, equipment, supplies, and temperature-sensitive products using 26-foot box trucks and 26-foot refrigerated (reefer) trucks . This position requires a safety-focused and dependable driver who can perform vehicle inspections, safely load and unload cargo, maintain accurate delivery documentation, and ensure refrigerated loads remain within required temperature ranges when operating reefer equipment. The driver will operate primarily in and around the Doña Ana and Westbrook, New Mexico areas , with travel to other locations as required by operational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate 26-foot box trucks and 26-foot refrigerated trucks. Transport materials, equipment, supplies, and other cargo between designated locations. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Inspect tires, brakes, lights, mirrors, fluids, liftgates, doors, refrigeration equipment, and other safety-related components. Verify cargo is properly loaded, distributed, secured, and protected before transportation. Assist with loading and unloading materials when required. Safely operate liftgates, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized. Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules while maintaining safe driving practices. Maintain bills of lading, delivery receipts, mileage records, inspection reports, and other required transportation documentation. Obtain required delivery signatures and accurately document completed deliveries. Immediately report accidents, vehicle damage, mechanical problems, cargo damage, delivery issues, or unsafe conditions to management. Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned vehicles. Follow company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local transportation and safety requirements. Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers, vendors, supervisors, and other employees. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REFRIGERATED / REEFER TRUCK RESPONSIBILITIES

When operating a refrigerated truck, the driver will also be responsible for: Inspecting the refrigeration unit before departure to verify proper operation. Confirming required temperature settings before loading and transportation. Monitoring cargo-area temperatures during transportation as required. Maintaining required temperature logs and delivery documentation. Minimizing unnecessary opening of cargo doors to maintain temperature control. Immediately reporting refrigeration-unit malfunctions or temperature deviations. Following company and customer procedures for handling temperature-sensitive cargo. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the refrigerated cargo area as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience operating box trucks, delivery trucks, refrigerated trucks, or similar commercial vehicles preferred. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated. Must meet applicable company insurance and driver eligibility requirements. Must maintain a safe and acceptable driving record. Ability to safely operate a 26-foot commercial vehicle in urban, rural, highway, loading-dock, and job-site environments. Ability to complete vehicle inspection and delivery documentation accurately. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to safely load, secure, and unload cargo. Ability to use GPS/navigation systems and follow assigned routes. Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively. Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.

CDL Requirement:

Whether a CDL is required will depend on the specific vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR), passenger capacity, and/or the type of cargo transported . Drivers must possess the appropriate license and endorsements required for the specific vehicle and assignment.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety is an essential function of this position. The Truck Driver is expected to: Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Operate vehicles in accordance with applicable traffic and transportation laws. Wear seat belts at all times while operating company vehicles. Follow company policies regarding distracted driving and mobile-device use. Verify loads are properly secured before transportation. Never operate a vehicle that is known to be unsafe. Immediately report mechanical or safety concerns. Follow safe backing procedures and use a spotter when required or available. Maintain adequate clearance when entering loading docks, job sites, parking areas, and other restricted spaces. Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering construction, industrial, warehouse, or customer sites. Follow applicable company, customer, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must be able to perform the physical functions associated with commercial driving and delivery operations, including: Sitting and driving for extended periods. Frequently entering and exiting a commercial vehicle. Standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Loading and unloading materials as required. Operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, liftgates, and similar equipment. Working on loading docks and uneven surfaces. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds , with or without reasonable accommodation. Working outdoors and in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Working in refrigerated or temperature-controlled cargo areas when required. Be able to pass medical fitness test and drug test.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position involves driving and delivery operations throughout the Doña Ana and Westbrook, New Mexico areas and other locations based on operational requirements. The driver may work in warehouses, loading docks, construction or industrial sites, customer facilities, and outdoor environments. Work may involve exposure to traffic, noise, moving equipment, varying weather conditions, and refrigerated environments. Schedules may include early mornings, extended shifts, overtime, weekends, or changes based on delivery and operational requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1+ years of commercial truck or delivery-driving experience. Previous experience driving a 26-foot box truck. Previous refrigerated/reefer truck experience. Experience using liftgates and pallet jacks. Experience with cargo securement and delivery documentation. Familiarity with

DOT/FMCSA

requirements applicable to commercial motor vehicle operations. Experience delivering to construction, industrial, warehouse, or commercial locations.
