Job Description
Join the Comstock Propane Team - Transport Driver Position Comstock Propane is seeking a dependable and experienced OTR Transport Driver to join our growing team. In this role, you will operate a tanker truck to safely pick up propane from supply points (such as refineries, pipeline terminals, or storage facilities) and deliver it to both commercial customers and Comstock Propane locations. Seasonal (October - April) Full time (Year round)
Position Overview:
This position includes both Over-the-Road (OTR) and local deliveries , depending on customer needs. Drivers typically complete 1 to 3 pickups/deliveries per day.
Average daily mileage:
100-500 miles . Shifts may be up to 10 hours per day , with approximately 80% of the time spent driving or waiting at supply points.
Compensation:
Pay $32.00 per hour Overtime in winter season Bi- Weekly pay schedule
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a propane tanker truck to pick up and deliver propane. Load/unload propane, typically requiring ~45 minutes per stop. Connect hoses and operate pumping equipment at terminals and delivery sites. Perform twice-daily vehicle inspections . Climb ladders to check tank gauges at certain delivery locations. Use safe driving practices in all conditions, including chain tires during winter weather. Complete accurate, legible delivery paperwork and operate electronic devices as needed. May assist with bobtail deliveries or other propane-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT , Tanker , and Air Brake endorsements. Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate for interstate commerce. Minimum of 3 years' tractor-trailer experience (200,000+ miles). 1 year tanker experience within the past 3 years. Eligible for a TWIC card .
Clean driving record:
