Duties Safely operate box trucks, cargo vans, or personal vehicles to deliver packages directly to customers' homes or businesses. Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment when necessary. Follow designated routes precisely, utilizing mobile devices for navigation and delivery instructions to ensure on-time performance. Adhere strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safe lifting practices during all phases of delivery. Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions, and ensuring a positive delivery experience. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs, including proof of delivery and route completion reports. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance before each shift. Experience Previous experience in warehouse operations or commercial driving is highly desirable. Proven delivery driver experience with a focus on route driving and manual transmission vehicles preferred. Familiarity with heavy lifting, manual handling, moving goods, and safe lifting practices required. Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or similar tools is a plus. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe driving standards is essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via mobile devices or in person. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial truck driving or courier experience is advantageous.
