This energetic role offers the opportunity to operate a range of heavy-duty trucks, including tractor-trailers and specialized vehicles such as flatbeds and tankers. Responsibilities Safely operate dump trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local delivery routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate using GPS systems to reach destinations efficiently while maintaining compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Manage logistics cargo handling, including loading, securing, transporting, and unloading freight such as refrigerated goods or hazardous substances. Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks to verify safety features, load security, and compliance with DOT standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or refrigerated trailer preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and truck loading/unloading procedures. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading equipment safely. Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes for freight including dangerous goods or refrigerated products. Excellent driving record demonstrating safe driving habits over the road (OTR).
