Shifts scheduled between 6:30 AM and 5:30

In Person Position Summary Kulanu Academy is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and compassionate Driver to transport individuals with special needs to and from program locations and community activities. The ideal candidate is punctual, professional, and committed to providing safe, reliable transportation while creating a positive experience for the individuals we serve. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate a company vehicle to transport individuals with special needs to and from designated locations in accordance with assigned schedules. Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing themselves safely in the vehicle as needed. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vehicle at all times. Comply with all New York State traffic laws, organizational transportation policies, and safety procedures. Navigate assigned routes efficiently using GPS or other navigation tools to ensure timely arrivals. Maintain accurate transportation records, including mileage, fuel usage, and other required documentation. Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding schedule changes, delays, vehicle issues, accidents, or incidents. Provide courteous, respectful, and professional service to passengers, families, staff, and community members. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Experience working with individuals with special needs. Previous professional driving experience is a plus. Requirements Valid New York State Driver License Ability to pass all required background checks and driving record review. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious. Ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations. Physical Requirements Ability to assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle. Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.

$40,000.00 per year
