Job Description

Lazer Logistics is hiring a Local CDL A Yard Driver to move trailers safely within high-volume distribution and manufacturing yards. In this role, you'll perform yard spotting, trailer moves, and shuttle runs using specialized yard trucks and technology. Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, precise backing and docking, updating yard management systems, and following strict safety and communication procedures. You'll work closely with dispatch and warehouse teams in a stable, safety-focused environment with training, reliable schedules, and opportunities to grow into operations or leadership roles. Responsibilities Move, spot, and shuttle trailers within distribution and manufacturing yards Perform safe backing, docking, and trailer positioning to doors and staging areas Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of yard trucks and equipment Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies and procedures Use yard management and/or electronic logging systems to update trailer status Communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and guard staff via radio and standard protocols Report equipment issues or yard hazards promptly for resolution Maintain accurate move counts and basic paperwork as required Support a clean, organized, and safe yard environment Participate in ongoing safety meetings and training sessions Required Skills CDL A driving Yard truck/spotter operation Backing and docking trailers Trailer spotting and shuttling FMCSA and DOT safety compliance Electronic logging/YMS systems Pre- and post-trip inspections Radio/yard communication protocols Basic mechanical awareness Time and route management
