Box Truck Driver - Commercial Millwork (Non-CDL)Join the AllCraft Team AllCraft is a leading commercial architectural millwork manufacturer serving the New York metropolitan area. We fabricate and deliver high-quality custom millwork and laminate cabinetry for some of the region's most prestigious commercial construction projects. We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Box Truck Driver to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our finished products are delivered safely, on time, and in excellent condition. This is a full-time position with daily travel throughout Long Island, New York City, and the surrounding tri-state area. Responsibilities As a Box Truck Driver, you will: Safely operate a company-owned 16-foot (or larger) box truck to transport finished millwork, cabinetry, and related materials to customer locations and construction job sites. Load, secure, transport, and unload materials while protecting finished products from damage. Verify deliveries using Bills of Lading, packing slips, and other shipping documentation. Complete required driver logs and delivery records accurately and in a timely manner. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns. Coordinate routine diesel truck maintenance and assist in keeping company vehicles clean and operating safely. Communicate effectively with shop personnel, warehouse staff, project managers, and job site personnel regarding delivery schedules and job site conditions. Navigate traffic, construction zones, and varying road conditions throughout Long Island, New York City, and the tri-state region. Assist shop personnel with wrapping, protecting, staging, and preparing millwork and furniture for shipment when needed. Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT and New York State regulations. Qualifications We're looking for someone who has: Valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record and acceptable driver abstract. 1-3 years of experience operating a 16-foot box truck or larger. Experience driving throughout New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area. Knowledge of proper cargo securement, weight distribution, and protection of finished materials. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A dependable work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude. A commitment to safety and excellent customer service.
Please Note:
A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required for this position. However, the successful candidate must comply with all applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and New York State motor vehicle regulations governing the operation of company vehicles, including driver qualification requirements, vehicle inspections, and safe operating practices. Physical Requirements This position requires working in a manufacturing facility, warehouse, construction job sites, and outdoors. The successful candidate must be able to: Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance when required. Load and unload millwork, cabinetry, furniture, and related materials. Stand, walk, bend, reach, climb in and out of trucks, and perform physical work throughout the day. Work safely in varying weather conditions and active construction environments. Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday Typical hours: 4:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet project schedules. Travel Daily local travel throughout Long Island, New York City, and the surrounding tri-state area is required. Periodic travel to our Long Island City facility and occasional overnight travel may be necessary. Why Join AllCraft?
