Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Box Truck Driver / Junk Removal Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on position that combines commercial vehicle operation, junk removal, physical labor, customer service, and sales . You will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles, traveling to residential and commercial job sites, removing and loading unwanted items and debris, and providing customers with professional and reliable service. The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, physically capable, safety-conscious, and comfortable communicating with customers . Because our crews interact directly with customers, candidates should also have sales experience and be comfortable identifying appropriate opportunities to upsell additional removal or hauling services without using high-pressure sales tactics. Reliability is extremely important. We are looking for someone who can consistently report to work on time, follow assigned routes and schedules, communicate effectively with management, and be counted on to complete jobs safely and professionally. Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles, including Freightliner Sprinter vans and Freightliner box trucks . Must be comfortable operating a 26' box truck with approximately 12'6" of clearance and understand the importance of monitoring bridge, tunnel, parking garage, overpass, and roadway height restrictions. Follow all applicable DOT regulations, traffic laws, company policies, and state/local transportation requirements . Safely navigate congested streets, tight loading areas, residential neighborhoods, commercial properties, and other challenging driving environments. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and immediately report mechanical problems, damage, warning lights, or safety concerns. Safely operate equipment such as lift gates and properly secure loads before transportation. Load and unload furniture, appliances, debris, household items, commercial waste, and other approved materials. Perform regular heavy lifting and physical labor throughout the workday. Protect customers' property while removing items from homes, apartments, offices, businesses, and other locations. Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining safe and efficient driving practices. Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers throughout each job. Explain available services and pricing clearly to customers when required. Use prior sales experience to recognize appropriate opportunities to upsell additional junk removal, hauling, or related services based on the customer's needs. Never use aggressive or misleading sales tactics; recommendations should provide genuine value to the customer. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional truck and work environment. Follow company procedures regarding disposal, recycling, donation, and waste-handling locations. Maintain communication with dispatch or management regarding job progress, delays, customer concerns, vehicle issues, or other problems. Work safely and efficiently as part of a crew when completing larger removal jobs. Qualifications & Experience Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Previous experience driving box trucks, commercial vans, moving trucks, junk removal vehicles, delivery vehicles, garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, or similar vehicles strongly preferred. Must be comfortable driving a large box truck with a 12'6" vehicle clearance . Previous sales, upselling, or customer-facing experience required or strongly preferred . Ability to communicate confidently with customers and recommend additional services when appropriate. Experience with junk removal, moving, delivery, waste management, recycling, construction cleanup, or similar physical work is preferred. Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and consistent with attendance . Ability to follow schedules, routes, instructions, and company procedures without constant supervision. Ability to safely perform repetitive lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading throughout the workday. Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, weight distribution, and cargo-securing practices. Familiarity with DOT requirements and commercial vehicle safety practices is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to recognize common vehicle problems is a plus. Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance when interacting with customers. Must be willing to work as both a driver and an active member of the junk removal crew .
