In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trailers and tractor-trailers to transport freight across various local routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with a passion for delivering exceptional service, will ensure timely and secure deliveries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards, including FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL A tractor-trailers with dump trailers to transport freight on scheduled routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials when applicable. Navigate using GPS systems to reach destinations accurately and on time, adjusting routes as needed for traffic or weather conditions. Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations during transportation. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shift reports, and cargo documentation in accordance with company policies. Assist with truck loading and unloading processes, ensuring proper manual handling techniques to prevent injuries. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions preferred. Proven delivery driver experience with knowledge of route driving and freight handling. Familiarity with Dump Trailers is a plus. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations. Strong navigation skills using GPS navigation systems; ability to adapt routes as needed for efficiency.
