Material Handler / Driver - Shipping & Receiving

Job Description

Position Summary Aero Structures Long Island, Inc. (ASLI) is seeking a dependable Material Handler / Driver to support Shipping & Receiving and local transportation activities. The position is responsible for safely transporting aerospace parts and materials, preparing and receiving shipments, operating material-handling equipment, and maintaining accurate pickup, delivery, and shipping documentation. About Aero Structures Long Island, Inc. Aero Structures Long Island, Inc. is a family- and veteran-owned aerospace manufacturer located in Westbury, New York. ASLI specializes in build-to-print machining and assembly of complex structural components for commercial and military aircraft programs. Our work supports major aerospace customers and programs, including Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Sikorsky, the CH-47 Chinook, V-22 Osprey, CH-53K, E-2D, F/A-18, Boeing 767, and Gulfstream aircraft. Key Responsibilities
  • Operate company vans and box trucks for local pickup and delivery of aerospace parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform vehicle safety checks, secure loads, and safely load/unload trucks using approved equipment.
  • Verify pickup, delivery, shipping, and receiving paperwork and obtain required signatures.
  • Package, protect, label, stage, and prepare parts and materials for shipment in accordance with customer and ASLI requirements.
  • Receive, count, move, and stage incoming materials using forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Use UPS, FedEx, and company systems to support shipment processing, receiving, data entry, and efficient route planning.
  • Follow DOT, OSHA, company safety, quality, and material-handling requirements while providing professional service to customers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Work closely with [Production / Quality / Engineering / Programming / Program Management / Purchasing] to support manufacturing operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) due to ITAR/EAR-controlled facility requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least two (2) years of professional driving experience and prior shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material-handling experience.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and no moving violations within the past three (3) years; DMV record verification required.
  • Forklift experience and ability to meet applicable CMV/DOT medical requirements.
  • Ability to accurately handle shipping documentation and basic computer/data-entry tasks.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs. and to work required overtime and Saturdays based on operational needs.
  • Manufacturing or aerospace experience and familiarity with UPS/FedEx shipping are preferred.

Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour The salary range provided is a general guideline for a position based in New York. Actual compensation will depend on factors including the candidate's qualifications, education, relevant experience, position scope, and market and business considerations. Benefits for eligible employees include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, voluntary life insurance, 401(k) with company match, company-paid holidays, and Paid Time Off (PTO). Benefits are available after 30 days, first of the month. Work Location Westbury, New York - ON-SITE
