Duties Safely operate a variety of trucks such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to transport freight efficiently. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling of goods. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement. Follow designated routes and schedules diligently while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery priorities. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with transportation regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional service. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure personal safety and that of other road users. Qualifications Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles with route driving responsibilities. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the types of trucks operated (e.g., manual transmission experience preferred). Familiarity with operating specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus. Experience handling various freight types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, or hazardous materials (if applicable). Knowledge of load securement techniques for different trailer types to ensure safe transport. Ability to perform manual tasks related to loading/unloading cargo efficiently and safely.
