HEAVY HAUL DRIVER
Position Summary Yuna Heavy Hauling LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Heavy Haul Driver capable of safely transporting oversize and overweight loads throughout the United States. The driver must be comfortable operating specialized heavy-haul equipment, understanding state-issued permits, planning routes, and taking responsibility for the safe and professional transportation of high-value cargo. Responsibilities & Requirements Must have proven experience transporting oversize and overweight (OS/OW) loads. Must be able to read, understand, and follow state-issued oversize/overweight permits without requiring constant assistance from dispatch. Must be able to review permitted routes, restrictions, curfews, bridge requirements, escort requirements, and other permit conditions before beginning a trip. Must be capable of building and managing the route independently using the InRoute navigation application, based on the approved permit route. Must follow the permitted route exactly and immediately contact dispatch if a route becomes inaccessible or unsafe. Must properly use MicroPoint/GPS tracking or other company-required tracking systems while transporting loads. Must have experience operating heavy-haul equipment such as RGNs, lowboys, multi-axle trailers, stretch trailers, and similar specialized equipment. Must understand proper cargo securement, including chains, binders, blocking, and other equipment required for heavy and oversized freight. Must conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, cargo, tires, brakes, lights, securement, and related equipment. Must be capable of working professionally with pilot/escort vehicles, police escorts, permit departments, customers, crane crews, and job-site personnel. Must understand height, width, length, axle-weight, gross-weight, and clearance considerations associated with specialized transportation. Must be willing to travel extensively and remain on the road as required by project schedules. Must keep assigned truck and equipment clean, organized, and in safe operating condition. Must represent Yuna Heavy Hauling LLC professionally when dealing with customers, brokers, law enforcement, escorts, and the public. Driver Qualifications Valid Class A CDL. Current DOT Medical Certificate. Clean and acceptable driving record. Previous heavy-haul / oversize / overweight experience is required. Ability to safely operate specialized tractor-trailer combinations. Strong understanding of permits and permitted routing. Ability to use InRoute, ELD, GPS, MicroPoint tracking, and smartphone applications required by the company. Strong communication skills and good judgment. Ability to work independently and solve problems safely while on the road. Safety-first attitude and willingness to stop operations whenever conditions are unsafe or unlawful. What We Expect At Yuna Heavy Hauling LLC, the driver is not expected to simply drive from Point A to Point B. Our drivers are expected to understand the entire movement the permit, the route, the equipment, the cargo, and the restrictions associated with the load. The driver must be able to review the permit, prepare the permitted route in InRoute, verify that the route is being followed, coordinate with escorts, monitor the equipment and cargo throughout transportation, and communicate any problems before they become serious issues. Safety, professionalism, equipment care, and responsibility are mandatory.
