Incumbents primary responsibility is to safely operate various types of city vehicles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs general maintenance tasks necessary to keep machinery, equipment, and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, refilling fluids, cleaning equipment, refueling vehicles, or cleaning work/storage areas; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment Maintains regular attendance and punctuality Performs other duties of a similar nature or level available for emergency overtime 24/7 Safely operate trucks to perform snowplowing and similar duties Safely operate trucks to haul various materials

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Basic maintenance principles Basic mathematical concepts Applicable tools and equipment Safe work practices Asphalt and Concrete Application CDL Class B Skill in: Safe operation of equipment/machinery/vehicles ( including the operation of power drills, jackhammers, etc) Performing manual labor Using applicable tools and equipment related to area of assignment Operating small hand and power tools and other related equipment Performing routine street maintenance and repair activities Ability to: Perform routine activities Understand and carry out written and oral instructions Provide quality customer service Participate in teamwork productively Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

CERTIFICATION/ LICENSURE

Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Ohio commercial driver's license.
