Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a CDL A - Yard Driver, where you will play a vital role in maintaining smooth yard operations and supporting our logistics network. This energetic position involves safely maneuvering tractor-trailers within the yard, ensuring timely loading and unloading, and assisting with freight movement to keep our supply chain running seamlessly. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will be essential to our success. Scheduled Shift Monday - Friday; 7am to 3pm (Occasional Saturdays) Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers and flatbed or refrigerated trailers within the yard, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Use GPS navigation systems to accurately position trailers and support route driving when needed. Load and unload trucks, ensuring compliance with safety standards for truck loading and unloading procedures. Support over-the-road (OTR) driving routes by preparing trailers for departure or returning them to designated areas. Maintain accurate logs of yard activities, trailer movements, and cargo handling in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Skills Proven experience with commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operations and delivery driving. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for precise yard positioning and route planning. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving and cargo handling. Strong skills in logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and truck loading/unloading techniques. Excellent driving record with experience in route driving, delivery routes, and over-the-road (OTR) routes when applicable.
