Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Rollback/Tow Truck Driver to join our team in Altoona, PA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a rollback or wrecker to assist with vehicle recoveries, transports, and roadside service calls. This position involves working with customers, law enforcement, and repair facilities while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times. Duties Safely operate flatbed tow trucks to load, transport, and unload vehicles of various sizes and types. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after transport, identifying mechanical issues or damages. Assist customers with roadside emergencies by providing prompt, courteous service while maintaining safety standards. Use automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues when necessary. Load and unload vehicles efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure transportation. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries. Maintain accurate logs of all transports, inspections, and service activities for recordkeeping purposes. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience operating tow trucks, specifically flatbed models, with a strong understanding of vehicle loading procedures. Mechanical knowledge including automotive diagnostics, repair basics, and familiarity with manual transmissions. Prior experience in automotive repair or mechanic work is highly desirable. Ability to load & unload vehicles safely while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts professionally. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, perform manual tasks, and work in various weather conditions.
