Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a Non-CDL Garbage Route Driver / Helper. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a satellite retriever style garbage truck along designated collection routes, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of our entire fleet.
Your primary duties will include:
Collecting and disposing of residential and commercial waste: This involves maneuvering the truck, lifting and throwing trash bags into the truck's rear-load mechanism (retriever), and ensuring all waste is properly collected. Assisting on the back of a truck on residential garbage routes: In addition to driving your own retreiver truck, on certain routes you will be instead assisting on the back of a garbage truck doing a larger route.
Operating truck safely and responsibly:
Adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations, maintaining a clean driving record, and ensuring the vehicle is operated in a safe and courteous manner.
Providing excellent customer service:
Interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Completing routes efficiently:
Managing your time effectively to ensure all stops are completed within the scheduled timeframe. Adhering to company policies and procedures: Following all safety guidelines, reporting any issues or incidents to supervisors, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Be eligible to get CDL license : The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to train for and receive their CDL license, paid for by the company. This will offer upward mobility within the company for career advancement
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift and throw heavy bags of trash repeatedly throughout the day. Physical stamina and endurance to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong work ethic and commitment to punctuality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to navigate collection routes efficiently and safely. Experience operating a garbage truck is a plus, but not required.
