Job Description

The Safety House is seeking a FULL-time Box Truck Driver/Warehouse Worker (CDL not required), to make deliveries to our customers. Primary duty will be driving & warehouse work. Current DOT physical card preferred. Clean Driving Record Clean criminal record as we sometimes deliver to government facilities. Ability to get a TWIC card. Monday-Friday
  • occasional Saturday possible Must have flexible hours. (Start time will vary depending on the needs for the routes, but is usually between 3am
  • 8am) Workday can be more than 8 hours, depending on the route needs for that day. Home every evening! Consistent Year-Round Work! Tasks include driving and making deliveries, as well as warehouse work. Driver will operate a 26 ft box truck (automatic trans) or similar vehicle (van, 18 ft box truck) to deliver or pick up product or materials as required.
  • Will need to get through tight spots on jobsites, as well as backup to docks.
  • Will be required to operate a powered hand jack on the truck, moving skids that can top 2,400 lbs.
  • Safely operate a truck liftgate (We can teach)
  • Will need to drive in Philly, NYC, Baltimore, DC, NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, and northern VA. When not driving, you will be required to complete warehouse duties.
  • Pick product(s) per each order
  • Pack onto pallets or into boxes for shipping
  • Operate our computer system to set up shipping (We will teach)
  • Operate a forklift and other warehouse machines (We will train) Work for us, and we will get you forklift certified as well! Must be reliable!! Come to work, and on time. Willingness to take on tasks that are not defined above. Compensation

  • Insurance Requirements 1 year of truck driving experience (no CDL required) Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to learn to use Driver logs and truck GPS to navigate from stop to stop. Ability to become certified (through training) in the use of forklifts and pallet jacks and to demonstrate good judgment in the use of this equipment. Ability to obtain a TWIC card. The company provides a competitive salary.
