Job Description

Summary Under the direction of the Food & Nutrition manager or supervisors, performs a variety of duties related to transporting and delivering premade trays, clean dishes, various food items, soiled dishes, and trays. Handles food in a safe and sanitary manner, always paying attention to the time food is being held out of proper temperature. Responsibilities Drives food delivery vehicles. Delivers premade trays, clean china, and wrapped silverware. Collects soiled trays and dishes. Delivers premade salad and desserts to the trayline area. Delivers bulk foods for distribution to kitchens. Responsible for maintaining the truck in a clean/sanitary condition. Responsible for maintaining loading and storage areas. Responsible for assembling carts with clean dishes in the dishroom for delivery and assisting in the warewashing. Deliver transport carts and tray pickup carts to the unit as assigned. Perform all related duties as assigned. Requirements Posses a valid driver's license (must notify director in writing in the event of loss of license privileges). Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to know the operation of the truck, retherm cart docking, refrigerator, and trash compactor. Ability to communicate effectively with personnel from various departments. Must operate vehicle safely at all times. Ability to lift 50 pounds, push racks and carts up to 75 pounds.
