Part-Time Hours | Monday-Friday | Paid Training | Supportive Team Environment | Meaningful Work Abound Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Driver's / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) during transportation services and community activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, values building positive relationships, and wants to make a meaningful impact in their community. While this role will primarily serve as a Driver's Aide, applicants should be comfortable driving company routes when needed, including regularly on Tuesdays and occasionally covering additional routes. Position Overview As a Driver's Aide / DSP, you will play an important role in ensuring individuals safely travel to and from their destinations while receiving respectful, person-centered support. You'll assist passengers during transportation, help promote independence, and contribute to a positive experience throughout the day. Key Responsibilities
Assist individuals during transportation to and from home, day programs, appointments, and community activities
Safely operate a vehicle when assigned routes require coverage
Assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles as needed
Monitor passenger safety, comfort, and well-being during transit
Provide companionship and support while encouraging independence
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicles
Follow transportation schedules and communicate delays or concerns
Complete required daily logs, documentation, and incident reports
Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Work independently while adapting to changing transportation needs
Drive safely in all weather conditions when necessary
Schedule
Primary Route Monday-Friday 6:30 AM
- 9:00 AM
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Additional Route Coverage Monday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Tuesday-Friday 8:00 AM
- 9:30 AM
3:30 PM - 4:30
PM Note:
This position primarily functions as a Driver. Driving responsibilities are required on Tuesdays and may be needed periodically to cover additional routes. Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
Ability to pass criminal, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
Ability to safely transport individuals when assigned driving duties
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (training provided upon hire)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable, patient, and professional demeanor
Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required
Previous transportation experience is preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Pay:
$16.50 per hour
