The CDL Truck Driver position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting cut timber, wood chips, mulch, misc. products, and/or equipment to designated destinations using a tractor-trailer combination or other heavy vehicle over the road and on logging service roads. Truck drivers typically perform in a work environment that is fast paced, ever changing and at times physically demanding.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Minimum 1-5 years' truck operating experience with clean driving record Ability to operate and maintain commercial vehicles safely and effectively. Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software. Familiar with basic equipment operation Wood hauling experience a plus Heavy haul experience a plus Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical exam Must be a US citizen with authorization to work in theUS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers or other specified vehicles, to transport logs, wood chips, and equipment to and from jobsites in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Safely load and unload cargo ensuring that it is properly secured to prevent damage during transit. Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency and minimizing downtime Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of trips, including but not limited to driver logs, mileage, and delivery receipts. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including hours-of-service requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues or delays. Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, as needed, and ensure the accurate counting and inspection of freight. Handle paperwork and documentation associated with shipments, including bills of lading and delivery confirmations. Operate logging equipment, such as skidders, excavators, front loaders, dozers, knuckle booms, offroad dump trucks, etc., as needed, to facilitate the loading and unloading process. Driving through rough terrain in all weather conditions. Maintain a clean and organized truck, inside and out, and perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices. Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients and handling inquiries or concerns. Follow company policies and procedures related to driver safety, performance, and conduct. Perform other job-related duties as required by their supervisorESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
