Job Description

Mowing Route Operator - Seasonal Job Summary TEC Property Care is seeking a dependable, experienced, and self-motivated Mowing Route Operator to independently manage our lawn maintenance route. This is a one-person position, not a mowing crew. The person hired for this role will be responsible for running the mowing operation independently each day. You will be expected to complete the assigned route, maintain quality standards, properly operate and care for company equipment, and handle the day-to-day responsibilities associated with the mowing route without requiring constant supervision. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, manages their time effectively, and can be trusted to get the job done correctly and efficiently. Responsibilities Independently operate and manage the company's daily mowing route. Complete all assigned properties within the scheduled timeframe while maintaining consistent quality. Operate commercial zero-turn and/or stand-on mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and other lawn maintenance equipment. Mow, trim, edge, and blow off properties to provide a clean, professional finished appearance. Take full responsibility for ensuring each property is completed properly before leaving the site. Safely load, unload, transport, and secure mowing equipment. Operate a company truck and trailer as required for the route. Perform daily equipment inspections and routine cleaning and maintenance. Identify and report equipment problems, property damage, safety concerns, or other issues promptly. Keep the truck, trailer, and equipment organized and professional in appearance. Follow company procedures, property-specific instructions, and established mowing schedules. Communicate promptly if weather, equipment problems, or other circumstances could affect the day's route. Assist with other landscaping or property maintenance work when mowing demand allows. What We're Looking For This position requires someone who is comfortable working alone and being accountable for the entire mowing operation during their shift. You will not have another crew member working alongside you to complete the route.
The ideal candidate:
Has previous professional mowing or lawn maintenance experience. Can confidently operate commercial mowing and landscaping equipment. Is comfortable driving a truck and trailer. Has basic mechanical knowledge and can perform minor equipment maintenance. Can work efficiently without sacrificing quality. Has strong attention to detail and notices areas that need additional trimming, cleanup, or attention. Can manage their own time and workload without constant supervision. Is dependable and understands that customers rely on their properties being serviced on schedule. Can follow instructions and property-specific requirements. Takes responsibility for mistakes and addresses problems professionally. Has the physical stamina to work outdoors for extended periods in heat and changing weather conditions. Understands safe equipment operation and jobsite practices. Important About This Position This is an independent position with significant responsibility. The Mowing Route Operator is trusted with company vehicles and equipment and is responsible for making sure the assigned route is completed safely, efficiently, and to TEC Property Care's standards. We need someone who can show up prepared, stay productive throughout the day, solve routine problems independently, and take pride in leaving every property looking professional.
