Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, across designated routes while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes and meet delivery schedules. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Manage automobile transportation tasks when required, including vehicle loading and securing for over-the-road routes. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to ensure safety standards are met. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation following FMCSA regulations. Deliver freight promptly to various locations, providing excellent customer service during drop-offs and pickups. Ensure compliance with all DOT and FMCSA safety standards during all phases of operation. Assist with truck loading/unloading processes, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo handling procedures. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) featuring double/triple endorsements. Demonstrated ability to operate refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or similar equipment safely on OTR routes. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software for efficient deliveries. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) and dangerous goods handling procedures. Experience in load & unload operations, including freight handling within logistics environments. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols related to tractor-trailer operations.
