BACKUP ROUTE DRIVER / MERCHANDISER EARLY MORNING POSITION 3

STARTS MONDAY-FRIDAY NO WEEKENDS

Join our team as a full-time Backup Route Driver / Merchandiser, learn every route in our operation, and have the opportunity to move into a commission-based Route Driver position as openings become available. This is a great fit for someone who genuinely likes starting early, finishing early, working independently and building relationships with customers.

THE SCHEDULE

Let's get the most important part out of the way first: this is an EARLY morning job.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday:

Start between approximately 3:00-5:00

AM Wednesday:

Start around 6:00 AM Typical finish: Approximately noon-2:00

PM Average:

Approximately 37-42 hours per week

Weekends:

NEVER Please seriously consider the early start before applying. We have found that people who genuinely prefer early mornings tend to do very well in this position. THE JOB Our Backup Route Drivers learn all of our delivery routes so they can cover established routes when regular Route Drivers are on vacation or unavailable. When you're not covering a route yourself, you'll ride with one of our regular Route Drivers and learn the business hands-on.

You'll:

Stock and pack out Boar's Head Brand products Check product dates and make sure nothing is out of code Properly rotate products, keeping older dates in front Merchandise products so displays are clean, organized and properly faced Learn our customer locations and delivery routes Learn our handheld computer system Build strong relationships with store personnel and customers Learn the individual needs of each account Cover established routes independently once trained Help load trucks after returning to the warehouse When covering a route, you'll drive a company-provided non-CDL box truck. This is an active, physical job. You'll be on your feet much of the day, regularly getting in and out of the truck, spending time in refrigerated coolers and repeatedly handling boxes weighing approximately 20-30 pounds. Once the day's work is completed, you're finished for the day. PAY $750 GUARANTEED

WEEKLY BASE PAY

When you independently cover a Route Driver's route, you receive an additional $25 per day. Cover a route for all five days = $875 for the week. As Route Driver positions become available, there is an opportunity to move into a regular commission-based route with additional earning potential.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience is great. Reliability is more important. We're looking for someone who: Can reliably report to work as early as 3:00 AM Is extremely dependable and punctual Has a stable employment history and is looking for a long-term position Is friendly, personable and comfortable building relationships with customers Can work independently without needing constant supervision Takes pride in keeping products organized, properly rotated and looking good Is physically capable of repeatedly handling 20-30 lb. boxes Is comfortable working in refrigerated areas Has a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to our commercial auto insurance carrier Can obtain and maintain a Pennsylvania DOT Medical Certificate Wants to learn the business and take on additional responsibility

NO CDL REQUIRED.

Previous food distribution experience is helpful, but NOT required. We can teach the routes, products, handheld system and day-to-day operation.

LOCATION MATTERS

Because some routes start as early as 3:00 AM, we strongly prefer applicants who live within approximately 10 miles of Spring City, PA. Please realistically consider your early-morning commute before applying.
