SchagrinGAS/Schagrin Home Comfort Products is a 4th generation family-owned local business specializing in propane delivery and the installation and service of gas appliances including HVAC equipment, standby generators, gas logs and fireplaces, and other comfort and convenience products. Objective To safely operate trucks for the delivery of propane gas to residential and commercial customers in a professional manner. Essential Functions Follow instructions for the pickup, transport and delivery of propane in a safe manner. Capable of operating a Bobtail Delivery Truck. General knowledge of how to restart gas appliances and check for gas leaks. Properly load and unload trucks. Assist with service of appliances, tanks, and piping Assist with pumping out tanks, assist with and perform tank installations and changes. Keep a truck driver log, all necessary paperwork of all work performed, physicals when requested and any other legal requirements to drive. Keep equipment and vehicles in excellent condition by performing necessary maintenance (ie. fluid levels). Check with the Manager/Dispatcher before leaving any location for additional instructions or deliveries. Reports problems at the time of the delivery to Foreman. Treats customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner. Represents Schagrin Home Comfort Products in a professional and courteous manner. Non-Essential Functions Reports directly to the West Grove Branch Manager, may also receive direction from various supervisors. Perform other miscellaneous duties assigned to the position. Capable of operating various power tools. Treats customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner. Report all accidents and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Schedule Requirements Available to work between 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Required to participate in a rotating on call shift for after-hours emergency deliveries. Minimum Qualifications Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with HazMat and Tank (X) endorsement , in good standing. Previous experience with propane/gas/fuel delivery is highly preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English Must be able to lift and pull up to 50 pounds Must be willing and able to work indoor and outdoors, in all types of weather. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the position. Ability to climb in and out of bobtail delivery truck and other equipment continuously during the course of the day's work. Must comply with Schagrin Home Comfort Products and DOT safety and drug & alcohol testing policies. Physical Demands/Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
