Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Driver and become a vital part of our logistics network! In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly while providing excellent service to our clients. We value energetic, detail-oriented drivers who thrive on moving goods efficiently and securely. Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers to transport freight short distances. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption. Load and unload cargo with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring secure placement of fragile goods. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards during all phases of transportation. Document delivery details accurately, including mileage logs, delivery receipts, and inspection reports. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with vehicle maintenance standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving with a focus on freight handling. Familiarity with driving different types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures related to dangerous goods. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently for route planning and real-time adjustments. Skilled in truck loading and unloading techniques for various cargo types including logistics cargo handling and hazardous materials. Experience in over-the-road (OTR) driving routes with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance. Manual transmission operation skills for trucks equipped with manual gearboxes. Excellent manual handling skills for safe load & unload procedures while adhering to safety standards. Knowledge of trucking equipment such as refrigerated units or flatbed trailers is a plus.
