DRIVER - STREETS & SANITATION

City of Clinton, South Carolina Ready to put your CDL and equipment skills to work serving your community? The City of Clinton is hiring a CDL Driver to join our Streets & Sanitation Division . We're looking for a dependable, safety-conscious team member who enjoys working outdoors, operating trucks and heavy equipment, and taking pride in a job well done.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a CDL Driver, you'll help keep Clinton clean, safe, and moving by: Operating sanitation trucks and other commercial vehicles Operating equipment such as knuckle boom clam trucks, leaf trucks, asphalt trucks, street sweepers, dump trucks, sand spreaders, skid steers, forklifts, mowers, tractors, and backhoes Collecting and transporting solid waste, yard debris, and other materials Assisting with street, right-of-way, grounds, and general maintenance Performing daily pre-trip and equipment inspections Cleaning, fueling, greasing, and helping maintain assigned vehicles and equipment Safely operating hand and power tools Assisting crew members with daily assignments Responding to after-hours emergencies and standby/on-call assignments when required

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

✓ High school diploma or GED ✓ At least six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience ✓ Valid driver's license and safe driving record ✓ Class

B CDL OR

ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six (6) months of employment ✓ Experience operating commercial vehicles or heavy equipment is a plus ✓ Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work well as part of a crew ✓ Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

IMPORTANT CDL REQUIREMENT

This is a safety-sensitive position subject to applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements, including random testing.

Pay:

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
