Retail, Wholesale, Apparel Description The Yard Driver operates yard trucks to shuttle trailers between designated locations and verifies trailer placement. This position will support the overall flow of freight by maintaining an organized yard, following safety protocols, and ensuring trailers are ready for loading, unloading, and Over the Road driver pickup. Duties and Responsibilities Drive trailers to and from receiving/shipping docks inside the yard Work closely in a team environment to complete daily tasks and goals to include third party vendors Adherence to all company policies to include all safety rules Hooking and unhooking airlines to trailers Pre and Post Operation Audits Following instructions provided by two-way radio Reporting safety and mechanical issues promptly and accurately according to the standard operating procedure Support other departments of the Distribution Center as business requires Follow OSHA Regulations and all safety requirements Additional duties as assigned by manager Scope Staff supervision and development: No Decision making: Works under direct supervision and follows established and standardized processes.

DC Based The anticipated rate for this position is $23.50 per hour depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. Requirements Education and Experience Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Years of Experience Experience operating 20 to 53-foot trailers and commercial freight containers with a yard hostler (terminal tractors) for a minimum of 1 to 2 years. Experience driving in a Supply Chain/Distribution Center environment preferred. Skills Skills Effective oral and written communication skills Knowledge of basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division) Ability to work and perform job duties safely in inclement weather Ability to train new drivers Qualifications (Required) - Must have valid driver's license (Minimum Class C) and clean driving record. Maintain active valid driver's license This role will be subject to periodic Motor Vehicle Records review and license checks Physical Requirements Standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve hours per day. Grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials on an intermittent basis for up to twelve hours per day. Reaching and working above and below the shoulder level on an intermittent basis for up to twelve hours per day. Ability to safely team lift, lower, and move items up to 50lbs unassisted (maximum), 51+lbs assisted over the course of a work day Sit or stand continuously for up to twelve hours per day.

•Must be comfortable working with and around forklifts, conveyer systems, scissor lifts, and hazardous machinery. Must be comfortable with performing many of the tasks listed above from a ladder up to fifteen feet in elevation above the floor surface observing safety controls. Must utilize proper safety controls at all times. Must be able to drive automobiles, forklifts and scissor lifts. Safety Must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
