Job Title:

Capitol Construction Location:
Spartanburg, SC Schedule:

Monday to Friday (primarily), with occasional Saturdays dependent upon weather conditions.

Pay Range:

$20 - $26 per hour

With a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellence, we take pride in our commitment to exceeding client expectations. Capitol Construction is seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport construction materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites in Spartanburg and nearby areas. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate and maneuver commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers, in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations. Transport construction materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites in a timely and efficient manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards. Secure loads properly and ensure that cargo is safely transported to its destination. Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, fuel consumption, and trip logs. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns. Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating vehicles on public roads. Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients, subcontractors, and the public.

Qualifications:

Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a clean driving record. Previous experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in the construction industry. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices. Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays as needed, depending on weather conditions and project requirements. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Willingness to undergo drug screenings and background checks as required by the company.
