Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a truck driver. Columbiad Fabrication is a metal fabrication shop and our typical deliveries are within a 4-hour radius of Puryear, TN. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate different routes while adhering to delivery schedules. This driver will operator a range of different vehicles including a semi truck, flatbed, and pickup truck with a gooseneck trailer. Responsibilities Operate trucks including semis and flatbeds. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo. Plan routes effectively to meet delivery deadlines while considering traffic patterns and road conditions. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate logs of hours worked, mileage driven, and cargo transported as per regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving. Skills Proficient in truck driving with experience in commercial driving. Experience with route driving and delivery driving is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently. Schedule Deliveries run Mon-Fri as needed. We can offer part-time work for driving only, or a full-time schedule for a driver/floater who would assist the production team while not driving. Floater assignments include unloading laser tables, cleaning parts, assisting with two-man lifts in the brake press department, and part packaging.
