• Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment for hazardous materials transportation. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across regional and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo is secured according to logistics cargo handling standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, compliance with FMCSA regulations, and proper functioning of all systems. Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or safety concerns. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods transportation. Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and navigation. Skilled in truck loading and unloading techniques, including manual handling of freight and cargo securing methods. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently while maintaining safety standards. Experience with refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment such as flatbeds or tankers is highly desirable. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures and the importance of compliance with safety regulations for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
