Position Summary The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to collect, transport, and dispose of residential and commercial waste and recyclable materials. The driver must follow all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations while providing dependable and professional service to customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate assigned CDL waste-collection vehicles. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Follow assigned routes and schedules. Collect and transport waste and recyclable materials to designated disposal or processing facilities. Properly operate vehicle controls and loading equipment. Maintain accurate driver logs, route sheets, and required documentation. Report vehicle defects, safety issues, accidents, spills, or other incidents promptly. Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle and equipment. Follow all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety requirements. Provide courteous and professional customer service. Assist with cleanup of spills and overflow when necessary. Attend required safety meetings and training. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid Class A or Class B CDL. Current DOT medical card. Clean and acceptable driving record. Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing. Ability to comply with FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements. Ability to read and understand safety instructions, traffic signs, and company procedures. Previous commercial driving or waste-collection experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and climb as required. Ability to lift and handle waste containers and other materials. Ability to safely perform physically demanding duties throughout the workday. Work Schedule The CDL Driver must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying start times as business needs require. Safety Expectations Safety is a primary responsibility of the CDL Driver. Employees are expected to operate vehicles responsibly, follow all applicable regulations, use required personal protective equipment, and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
