Responsible for transporting goods and materials across long distances, typically across state lines. .86 dollar per mile/ 1500-mile guarantee a week for 1 year Monthly Safety Incentive Bonuses! Layover and Detention Pay Duties and Responsibilities Inspects the truck pre•and post-trip. Accurately complete vehicle inspection sheets, fuel consumption logs, daily log sheets, bills of lading, vehicle trip records, and expense reports. Ensures all cargo is loaded, checked, and safely secured during transit. Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of cargo to ensure secure transit. Acquires all proper signatures on shipping/receiving documents. Monitors the maintenance and repair of the truck. Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and representing the company positively. Responsible for following all Federal and State DOT regulations as well as warehouse safety regulations. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience Requires a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) and appropriate endorsements. Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card and maintain a complete US DOT driver qualification file. 1+ years recent commercial delivery-driving experience. Valid state-issued drivers license, with a clean driving record. Capacity to demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and dependability. Good hand-eye coordination. Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Skills and Experience Minimum of 1 year of OTR driving experience. Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus. Strong commitment to customer service. Possess specialized skills for managing hazardous materials. Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Travel across various states. Flexible shifts with the capability to undertake overnight trips 1-2 nights per week. (•is this more like 3-4 because of the long distance•). Comfortable sitting and driving for extended periods. Various weather conditions.
