Summary Description The CDL-A Hazmat Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials using a Class A commercial vehicle. This position requires strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and hazardous materials regulations while ensuring timely deliveries and providing exceptional customer service. The driver must demonstrate strong safety awareness, professionalism, and reliability at all times. Role and Responsibilities Safely operate a CDL-A commercial vehicle to transport hazardous materials to and from customer locations. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of tractors, trailers, and assigned equipment. Load, secure, and unload hazardous materials according to regulatory and company safety procedures. Maintain accurate shipping papers, manifests, logs, and electronic logging device (ELD) records. Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, EPA, OSHA, and 49 CFR hazardous materials regulations. Follow proper PPE requirements, spill prevention, and emergency response procedures. Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and safety personnel regarding schedules and delivery status. Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicle. Participate in ongoing safety training, certifications, and company meetings. Report any safety concerns, incidents, or accidents promptly. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications and Education Requirements Valid CDL-A license with Hazmat (H) endorsement; Tanker (N) or X (Tanker + Hazmat) Minimum 2+ years of CDL-A driving experience (or company-approved equivalent). Clean MVR and ability to pass background checks. Current DOT Medical Certificate. Exposure to chemicals, fumes, and varying weather conditions. Regularly involves physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and hose handling. Ability to lift 50-75 lbs, connect hoses, handle chemicals, and work outdoors in various conditions. Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling, load securement, and safety protocols. Ability to pass DOT-mandated drug and alcohol testing. Will require overnights, weekends, and possibly holidays, or extended shifts depending on route and customer needs. Strict adherence to safety standards and PPE requirements. Preferred Skills Experience transporting fuel, chemicals, gases, or other hazardous commodities. Training in HAZWOPER, spill containment, and emergency response. Familiarity with ELD systems and electronic documentation. Ability to sit for long periods while driving. Frequent lifting, pulling, climbing, crouching, and manual handling of hoses/equipment. Must meet all DOT physical qualification standards. Time Management - The ability to prioritize tasks to best serve the flow of the current work needs.

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
