Traffic Safety Support Driver (Non-CDL)

Job Description

Join a team that helps keep Texas highways safe. Sundrop Gardens Landscaping is hiring two dependable drivers to operate Traffic Management Attenuator (TMA) trucks on a Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) roadway maintenance contract in the Sonora area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, values safety, and prefers operating a company vehicle rather than performing heavy manual labor. What You'll Do Operate a company-owned Non-CDL TMA safety truck. Position the vehicle to protect roadside work crews. Follow established traffic control and safety procedures. Maintain communication with crew members throughout the workday. Conduct daily vehicle inspections. Safely relocate the truck as work progresses along the roadway. Complete basic vehicle reports and inspections. This Position Is Different Unlike many highway maintenance jobs, your primary responsibility is driving and operating your assigned safety vehicle. You will not be responsible for collecting roadside debris or performing routine labor associated with the cleanup crew. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be at least 21 years old. Comfortable driving for extended periods. Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Dependable with excellent attendance. Able to follow TXDOT safety procedures. Pass a background check and drug screening. Schedule Approximately 12 working days each month. Up to 10-hour shifts. Overtime available after 40 hours per week. Some overnight travel may be required. Pay & Benefits $18.00 per hour Overtime paid after 40 hours. Lodging provided for overnight assignments. $30 daily per diem when overnight travel is required (breakfast included with hotel). Company-provided safety equipment.
