Dispatcher/Driver - Federal Transportation Services Care On Wheels Transportation Arlington, VA Job Details Full-time | Contract $20 - $35 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Road transportation operations Email customer support Shift management GPS Driver's License Reservation systems Dispatch software communication Full Job Description Job Summary Care On Wheels Transportation Services LLC is recruiting one experienced Dispatcher/Driver for an anticipated federal transportation-services contract supporting the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in Arlington, Virginia. This full-time, onsite position combines transportation dispatching with professional driving responsibilities. The selected employee will coordinate daily transportation requests, communicate with customers and drivers, track trips and vehicles, maintain dispatch records, and provide driving support when operationally required.
Responsibilities:
Receive and process transportation requests through the reservation system, email, or telephone. Assign drivers and vehicles according to schedules and operational requirements. Serve as a point of contact for customers requesting transportation and the drivers providing service. Track trip reservations and monitor driver performance and vehicle movement. Help ensure that scheduled transportation assignments begin and finish on time. Maintain and review daily transportation records, trip logs, and operational reports. Communicate schedule changes, delays, safety concerns, and service problems. Report accidents and safety issues to the Program Manager/Dispatcher. Provide professional driving support during surge periods, employee absences, or other operational needs. Safely transport CISA employees and authorized passengers throughout the National Capital Region. Plan routes, identify alternate routes, and coordinate with dispatch to maintain punctual service. Conduct required vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance concerns. Maintain professional conduct and protect sensitive information encountered during contract performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least two years of transportation-dispatching experience. Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor-vehicle record. Professional driving, chauffeur, executive-transportation, or comparable driving experience is preferred. Knowledge of Arlington, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and the National Capital Region. Experience using computerized reservation, dispatch, GPS, email, tracking, and reporting systems. Strong communication, organization, customer-service, and decision-making skills. Ability to respond professionally to changing schedules and time-sensitive requests. Ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia. Ability to perform the position's essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday Anticipated shift: 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. 40 paid hours per week, with a daily unpaid meal period Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to satisfy applicable DHS personnel-security, suitability, fingerprinting, and background-investigation requirements. Access to certain DHS systems may be subject to citizenship or agency-waiver requirements. This anticipated position is contingent upon final government approval. The anticipated contract start date is approximately September 30, 2026. Final compensation will meet or exceed any applicable federal Service Contract Labor Standards wage and fringe-benefit requirements.
