Job Description

Overview Join our family-owned and operated towing and vehicle recovery company as a Tow Truck Operator and become a key part of a team known for reliability, professionalism, and safety. In this role, you will provide prompt emergency and on-site vehicle support using light

  • and medium-duty tow trucks , while representing a trusted local business. Operators are home most nights and work a stable weekday schedule. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in safe, damage-free towing, strong customer communication, and working efficiently in real-world conditions. Duties Safely operate light
  • and medium-duty tow trucks , including flatbed and wheel-lift equipment, across varied road and weather conditions Perform vehicle recovery and transport while ensuring proper loading, securement, and damage-free handling Assess vehicle condition prior to towing to determine appropriate recovery methods and safety procedures Load and unload vehicles using winches and related equipment in compliance with safety standards Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, dispatch, and law enforcement during emergency and on-site vehicle support situations Maintain accurate service logs, reports, and required documentation Manage stressful or conflict situations calmly while prioritizing safety and professionalism Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks and equipment to ensure operational readiness Follow company policies, safety protocols, and compliance requirements at all times Skills Ability to operate light•and medium-duty tow trucks (flatbed and/or wheel-lift preferred) Strong understanding of safe loading, weight distribution, and vehicle securement Knowledge of automotive systems helpful for vehicle assessment Excellent customer service and communication skills, especially in high-pressure situations Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and follow dispatch direction Strong situational awareness and accident-scene safety practices Professional appearance and commitment to representing a family-owned business Requirements Must be at least 25 years of age Clean driving record preferred Valid driver's license (CDL a plus, not required unless applicable) Driver Authorization Document (DAD) or ability to obtain upon hire Ability to pass fingerprinting, background checks, and random drug screenings Reside in the Roanoke/Botetourt area or ability to relocate Willingness to participate in training and continuing education Schedule, Pay & Benefits Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM•5:00 PM Home most nights Hourly pay based on experience Overtime, holiday pay, and commission opportunities Health insurance options available Uniforms provided Phone incentive Training and continuing education hours offered Embark on a rewarding career with a family-owned company that values safety, reliability, and teamwork .
