LILAC CITY MEDICAL TRANSPORTNEMT DRIVER - JOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION SUMMARY
Lilac City Medical Transport is seeking a dependable, safety-focused NEMT Driver to safely transport clients throughout Spokane and surrounding areas. Drivers must provide professional, respectful service while following all company, safety, and HIPAA requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Safely transport clients to medical appointments and approved destinations. Follow assigned routes, schedules, dispatch instructions, and company procedures. Assist clients with safe entry and exit from the vehicle within authorized job duties. Be physically able to walk and safely go up and down stairs when required. Practice defensive driving and follow Washington traffic laws. Complete required trip, mileage, vehicle, and incident documentation. Immediately report accidents, injuries, vehicle problems, safety concerns, or other incidents. Keep the company vehicle clean, sanitary, organized, and safe. Protect client privacy and maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times. Maintain professional boundaries and respectful communication with clients, caregivers, facilities, coworkers, dispatch, and management.
SAFETY & HIPAA
Drivers must follow safe driving, seat-belt, vehicle, and client-assistance procedures. All Protected Health Information (PHI), including client names, medical information, and appointment information, must remain confidential. Drivers may not photograph, post, text, discuss, or share client information except for legitimate authorized business purposes. Suspected privacy violations and safety incidents must be reported immediately to management.
REQUIREMENTS
Valid Washington State driver's license and legal authorization to drive. Clean or acceptable driving record. Successful Washington State Patrol (WSP) background check . Required NEMT screening, including drug screening when required. Dependable, punctual, responsible, and able to work independently. Professional communication skills. Willingness to complete required safety and HIPAA/privacy training. Previous NEMT, transportation, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred but not required. Must successfully complete a CTAA class within 90 days of hire.
PHYSICAL & WORK EXPECTATIONS
Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods, repeatedly enter and exit the vehicle, assist with ordinary ambulatory client movement within trained duties, walk and climb stairs safley if needed remain alert while driving, and work safely in changing Spokane weather and road conditions.
