Job Description

Job Summary:
This is a full-time, regular position. Examples of work to be performed are: plowing snow; spreading salt and sand; grading shoulders; cleaning culverts; patching roads; cutting brush; painting/maintaining guard rails; putting up and removing snow fence; hauling gravel, sand, blacktop, general labor on construction projects and making minor equipment repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for hauling gravel, blacktop, fill, culverts, and other highway materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining bridges.
  • Responsible for continued litter pick up.
  • Responsible for cutting brush along road right of way.
  • Responsible for flagging/signing and emergency sign repair.
  • Assists mechanics, machinery maintenance worker, and miscellaneous equipment and maintenance operator with repairs.
  • Performs any other related highway maintenance and construction work as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Truck driving certificate and/or three to five years related experience.
  • Requires a valid Wisconsin driver's license with CDL (proper endorsements) and adequate insurance as required by County Policy.
