Job Description Summary:
Aviagen Turkeys, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced CDL Class B Driver to join our Transportation team. This position is primarily responsible for safely transporting eggs from our farms to hatcheries and other company locations. This is a mostly local driving position, with limited out-of-state travel. The Driver II is responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle safely and professionally while complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle while transporting eggs between farms, hatcheries, and other company locations Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations and company safety policies Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, hoses, and other equipment Assist with loading and unloading as needed Ensure loads are properly secured before movement Maintain required documentation, including equipment, trip, time, and load records Clean and wash trucks and equipment as necessary Report vehicle or equipment maintenance concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor Follow company biosecurity and sanitation requirements when traveling between farms and hatcheries Perform other duties as assigned Job Qualifications Minimum 21 years of age Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required Satisfactory driving record Previous commercial driving experience preferred Knowledge of DOT regulations and applicable state and federal motor vehicle laws Ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle in rural and farm environments Ability to read, understand, and complete required documentation Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Dependable, safety-conscious, and professional High school diploma or equivalent preferred Basic math skills Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to sit and drive for extended periods and regularly climb in and out of the truck cab Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to work around agricultural environments, including animal-related odors Ability to work around moving equipment and in environments where noise levels may exceed 85 decibels Ability to work varying schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business needs require
