Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Meal Reimbursement & Limited Paid Holidays Position Overview Balance Staffing is seeking dependable and safety-focused Autonomous Vehicle Test Operators to support autonomous vehicle testing and data collection. This position involves operating vehicles in both manual and autonomous modes , monitoring onboard technology, collecting real-world data, and providing detailed feedback to engineering and operations teams. Available Night Schedules Candidates must be able to reliably work 5 days per week on one of the following schedules: 10:00 PM-6:30 AM | Wednesday-Sunday 10:00 PM-6:30 AM |

Friday-Tuesday Pay:

$28.25/hour

Weekend Differential:

Additional pay for qualifying hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays. Key Responsibilities Operate vehicles in manual and autonomous modes for up to 8 hours per day in various traffic conditions. Monitor onboard safety and navigation systems while maintaining situational awareness. Use proprietary software to collect data and provide accurate feedback to engineering teams. Troubleshoot operational issues and communicate with Mission Operations/Dispatch as needed. Complete vehicle inspections before and after assigned missions. Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including washing vehicles and checking tire pressure. Maintain accurate documentation and meet mileage/data collection targets. Professionally interact with members of the public when necessary. Occasionally support ride-alongs involving leadership, stakeholders, investors, and engineers. Follow all safety and operational procedures. Qualifications Current and valid California driver's license . Must have held a U.S. driver's license for at least 3 years . Clean driving record. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable using laptops, tablets, smartphones, and online communication platforms. Ability to troubleshoot issues and remain calm under pressure. Ability to work independently or in a small team with limited supervision. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance. Comfortable adapting to changing conditions and technology. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for 3-4 hours at a time and up to 8 hours per day. Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and regularly lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to safely perform necessary head, neck, back, and shoulder movements while driving. Comfortable working in a vehicle that may brake, swerve, slow, or stop abruptly. Ability to safely operate vehicle controls and pedals throughout the shift.
