Job Description

Position Overview Repair Operator anticipates, assesses and troubleshoots batteries that may be rejected. Repair Operator will comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE as well as understand & practice the Quality policy. Areas of Focus Repair Operator visually inspects batteries and identify possible defects that may cause inconsistent welds or other problems. Repair Operator will make minor repairs to battery elements and perform inspection checklist. Additionally, Repair Operator will anticipate, assess and troubleshoot batteries that may be rejected. Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect batteries for excess lead and assure balance and alignment
  • Place shields on batteries
  • Verify and inspect for misaligned covers and assist heat sealer during full capacity
  • Operate air hose to test for leaks
  • Operate Forklift to move batteries offline to pallet; complete pallet label with appropriate model and part number; transport pallets to remote location
  • Visually inspect batteries and identify possible defects that may cause inconsistent welds or other problems
  • Make minor repairs to battery elements
  • Perform inspection checklist
  • Demonstrate the proper way to remove the cover off a damaged battery
  • Anticipates, assesses and troubleshoots batteries that may be rejected
  • Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE
  • Understand & practice the Quality policy Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift Driver Cert
  • Training certification(s) as appropriate
  • Comply with Blood Lead Health and Hygiene Protocols
  • Understand and comply with correct lifting procedures which enable lifting to 50 lbs
