Job description Mid Lane Carriers is currently looking for a full-time experienced chassis mechanic to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on trailers or intermodal vehicles. As a chassis mechanic, your responsibilities will include inspecting trailers, troubleshooting any existing issues, and making necessary repairs for use and distribution. This will involve repairing ABS systems, air brake systems, changing tires, wheel ends, structural assemblies, and providing general yard assistance. It is important to document each repair to maintain a historical record of the work done on each trailer. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a forklift. Other duties and responsibilities include welding and fabrication on the chassis, as well as maintaining accurate paperwork. The candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and execute tasks in a timely manner. Mid Lane Carriers, Inc. B.I.T. inspections on chassis Maintenance/repairs on containers, trailers, chassis Overall knowledge on repairs and tools Welding, electrical, brakes, tires, airlines Able to work independently Must be able to follow directions Must comply with safety rules
Responsibilities:
Maintenance/repairs on containers, trailers, chassis Air brake systems Repairing ABS systems Wheel ends Structural assemblies Welding Tires Properly maintain documents/repair history Help with yard duties Stack Chassis Education, experience, and licensing requirements: 5+ years experience with chassis mechanical work High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred) Welding certificate ASE certificate Own tools (preferred) Knowledge of operating a forklift (not required but highly preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time Must be able to stand for long periods

Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm and weekends as needed
