Head mechanic

Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Mechanic to lead our automotive repair and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires a strong background in automotive repair, welding, brake repair, and the ability to work on underground equipment. The Head Mechanic will also be responsible for coordinating work across various job sites, including hauling equipment as needed. A valid CDL is required to facilitate transportation and operational flexibility. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the automotive repair team to ensure efficient and accurate vehicle diagnostics and repairs. Perform complex vehicle maintenance, including brake repairs, welding, and other mechanical services. Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Work on underground equipment, ensuring all repairs meet safety and operational standards. Coordinate hauling of equipment to various job sites, demonstrating flexibility in work space management. Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all operations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics and technicians. Experience Proven experience in automotive repair with a strong focus on diagnostics, brake repair, welding, and general vehicle maintenance. Prior leadership or supervisory experience as a Head Mechanic or similar role is preferred. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Ability to work on underground equipment safely and effectively. Flexibility to adapt to different work environments and willingness to haul equipment between job sites. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing mechanical issues. Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
