This role is focused specifically on transmission rebuilding and requires a minimum of five (5) years of dedicated transmission rebuilding experience . In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing vehicle transmissions with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that vehicles are restored to optimal performance, providing our customers with reliable and safe transportation. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for transmission systems and automotive excellence to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Duties Rebuild, repair, and overhaul vehicle transmissions, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and quality standards Diagnose transmission issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to determine root causes Disassemble transmissions carefully, inspect components, and replace worn or damaged parts such as clutches, bands, gears, and seals Use power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and automotive electrical systems to complete repairs efficiently Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, wheel alignments, suspension checks, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose complex transmission problems Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify proper operation and ensure customer satisfaction Requirements Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience specializing in transmissions and automotive repair Strong mechanical knowledge of powertrain components including diesel engines, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and auto electrical systems Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service tools effectively Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes, alignment, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts replacement Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training in automotive repair disciplines Collaborate with R&R technicians, service advisors, and management to ensure timely completion of repairs Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of dedicated transmission rebuilding experience required What We Offer Stable, full-time employment Monday through Friday schedule Clean and professional work environment Consistent workload Opportunity for advancement as the company continues to grow Potential future performance-based incentive opportunities Work alongside a team committed to quality and customer satisfaction Compensation is commensurate with experience, skill level, certifications, and qualifications Potential for future performance-based incentive programs based on productivity, quality, and overall shop performance Schedule Full-Time Monday through Friday 40+ hours per week Additional hours may be available based on business needs Why Keith's Transmission?
