The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a variety of transportation vehicles and equipment. This full-time position requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Transportation Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation fleet. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of transportation vehicles, including buses, trucks, and other motorized equipment. Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems to determine appropriate repair solutions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed on vehicles and equipment. Collaborate with team members to coordinate repair schedules and ensure minimal downtime for transportation services. Assist in the procurement of parts and supplies necessary for vehicle maintenance and repair. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to transportation mechanics. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders regarding transportation-related inquiries. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in automotive or transportation mechanics is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably in a transportation setting. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards related to vehicle maintenance. Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time to meet deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; specialized endorsements may be required. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
