New London, CT Job Type:
Full-Time (Overtime Available) Position Overview We are currently hiring Traffic Control Technicians / Flaggers to support active work zones across Eastern Connecticut. This is a field-based role responsible for maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow around construction and utility projects. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and able to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment while following strict safety and regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities Set up and maintain temporary traffic control zones using cones, barrels, and signage Safely direct traffic using a stop/slow paddle and radio communication when required Follow all state and company safety regulations at all times Work closely with crew members to ensure job site safety and efficiency Travel between job sites and follow assigned crews throughout the day Required Qualifications Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (Required) Reliable personal vehicle to travel between job sites (Required) Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical labor Flexible availability, including overtime and occasional weekends Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening Training & Certification ATSSA Flagger Certification required (provided by employer) Paid training available for qualified candidates Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Previous construction, traffic control, or outdoor labor experience Why Join Us Immediate openings available Paid training and certification Consistent work with opportunities for overtime Opportunity to grow within a safety-focused team environment
