Location:
St. Louis Lambert International Airport (Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $180.00 bi-weekly.) This position is selected for the Hiring Incentive Program. The incentive shall be in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1500.00). The hiring incentive will be paid (if funds are available) by the Department/Division which appoints the applicant. The hiring incentive is not available to current City employees. Incumbents in this position receive calls and dispatch emergency response or repair personnel.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Dispatch emergency response personnel in matters regarding emergency, fire, administrative, etc. situations. Receive incoming calls, direct callers, and provide information. Determine location and nature of complaint and record and/or enter on all self-initiated and dispatched calls into a computer system Use two-way radio to perform computer aided dispatch duties; dispatch emergency response personnel, Police, Fire, and EMS. Forward complaints to supervisor or department within the Airport Police as needed, or direct callers to other Airport departments as appropriate. Request information and validate records and complete necessary forms.

Sensory Requirements:

Other Requirements:
Must be available to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Qualifications One year of recent full-time paid dispatching experience; OR , one year of customer service experience in a call center work environment.
Certifications:
For positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, incumbents must obtain certifications for REJIS (Regional Justice Information System), MULES (Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System) and NCIC (National Crime Information Center) by the end of their working test period and maintain them while employed by the City of St. Louis.
