Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to plan, track, and optimize freight routes and loads. Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, warehouse teams, and clients via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall transportation efficiency. Manage data entry tasks related to shipment documentation, freight tracking updates, and port activity logs with accuracy and attention to detail. Oversee shipping & receiving operations, including freight documentation, inventory management, and coordination with 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers. Support fleet management activities by scheduling dispatches, tracking vehicle maintenance needs, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. Requirements Proven experience in dispatching or transportation planning within a logistics or port environment. We use Port Pro for a drayage system Strong analysis skills to interpret GPS data, GIS mapping tools, and transportation management systems like Oracle TMS or AS400. Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, clients, and internal teams. Proficiency in data entry using systems such as SyteLine or similar ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platforms. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, freight documentation, and fleet management practices. Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics operations, and transportation planning strategies to optimize port throughput.
