Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Customer Service Window Lead oversees and coordinates all day-to-day shipping operations, including the supervision of Final Inspectors. This role ensures the accurate and timely check-in and check-out of trucks, proper order processing, and clear communication between Sales, Yard Operations, Quality Control, and Logistics.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and directs shipping clerks and Final Inspectors in daily operations, ensuring all processes meet company standards for accuracy and quality.
- Leads Final Inspectors to verify all outgoing materials meet required specifications before shipment, ensuring any discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Coordinates communication between inspection staff, loading teams, and sales representatives to maintain efficient workflow and order accuracy.
- Manages and monitors the truck check-in screen and shipping schedule, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
- Reviews and approves changes to checked-in orders, notifying the loading supervisor and sales of any updates or issues.
- Oversees documentation including packing lists, delivery tickets, and driver sign-outs to ensure all records are complete and accurate.
- Ensures compliance with all Quality Management System (QMS) standards, departmental processes, and inspection procedures.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment, enforcing proper PPE use and addressing safety concerns immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; additional supervisory or logistics training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, or quality control
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing inspection or quality assurance teams a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret industry specifications, charts, and tables.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving ability, and multitasking under pressure.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
